Emirates is an award winning airline headquartered
in Dubai. As part of a major expansion program,
Emirates began design work on a new Technical Centre
at Dubai Airport. The intent of the facility is the
maintenance of a mixed fleet of Airbus A300/A310’s,
Boeing 777-200/300’s, and Boeing 747-400’s. The hangar
building consists
of three interconnected hangars for
wide-bodied aircraft in a nose-in configuration. Also
included are workshops, stores, personnel accommodations,
major office facilities for Emirates Engineering, security
buildings, hazardous goods stores, and a small mosque.
Site works include
access roads, parking, storm water management, a
pump house with a reservoir, aprons, engine run-up
area, and landscaping.

for tendering this facility as a Design/Build project.
Reinders
+ Rieder Ltd. was further retained as Project Managers,
Compliance Consultants and Technical experts during
Construction. Total building area is 45,000 m2 at
a construction cost of $50 million.
