The Bridges

The Bridges Transitional Housing and Shelter has sprung
from a partnership between Cambridge Kiwanis Village
and Cambridge Shelter Corporation, who have been providing
beds for the homeless in churches around Cambridge
for the past several years. The 22,000 square foot
three storey building will combine a 20-bed transitional
housing component with a 40-bed shelter and a 1000
square foot drop-in centre and kitchen.
Located close to the
entry point of downtown Galt, the building has been
designed to reflect the surrounding historic architecture.
It will be clad in stone and features a three-storey
high turret structure which will provide a full view
of the surrounding neighborhood from the reception
area on the ground floor, a recreational lounge for
the transitional housing residents on the second
floor, and a multi purpose program space on the third
floor.
