This new 30 bed nursing home addition provides a “continuum”
of care environment, maintaining the dignity of the
aged. Residents’ rooms were planned as private suites
with large windows, washroom facility and personal
closet areas. Each room provided the resident with
an opportunity to custom design their own interior
space to give it a personal touch and a feeling of
home. The discriminate use of skylights and greenhouse
style windows provided natural light to the corridors
as well as a pleasant vista to the enclosed richly
landscaped courtyard area.
Nurses stations, tub
rooms, utility areas, servery, therapy areas and
a large activity wing were also celebrated features
of this new facility.
