Quinte Christian High School

This project is a new 40,400 sf high school facility including 6 typical classrooms, two science labs, computer lab, art room, music room, two level workshop, cafeteria with kitchen, gym/multi purpose auditorium, drama room, guidance rooms, teachers'' facilities, offices, storage, washrooms, locker rooms and service rooms.

The 22 acre site is unserviced, and the site and building are designed for phased expansion. The lack of municipal services, including adequate water supply, meant that the school could not be sprinklered. This entailed the creative use of firewalls to separate the building into fire compartments, thus meeting the requirements of the Ontario Building Code.
