Canadian Forces College,
Southside Extension - Toronto ON
This 3013 m2 (32,500 sf) addition to the academic
facilities at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto,
Ontario, gracefully links two radically different
existing buildings, creating a common entry area
and providing accessibility via a new elevator. The
building, know as Dewolf Hall, combines elements
of a 1940's Georgian style brick academic building
and a curvilinear concrete and curtain wall structure
built in the 1980's, providing a visual statement
that unifies the complex.
The new wing
contains new administrative offices and a new Distribution
Centre on the first floor, an expansion to the
college's Information Resource Centre on the second
floor, and state-of-the-art war game facilities
on the third floor.
