Borden 400 Squadron Hangar

In 1996, the Canadian Department of National Defense purchased new Bell Griffon
support helicopters for 400 Squadron in Toronto. The purchased necessitated its
relocation to CFB Borden. Hangar 18 was chosen as the new location of 400 Squadron.
The 8,000 sm Hangar, built in 1954, required the construction of 1,000
sm addition and extensive renovations to its life safety, mechanical and electrical
systems to support its new function as a military helicopter service, support
and training facility.
